Outstanding
mid-century
designer rocking chair by Ilmari Tapiovaara (1914–1999) a
noted Finnish designer. All original, in good used condition. Its style
is simple with clean lines that work together to create a stunning
look. The continuous flow from the tips of the spindled arms to the top
of the back, and the tall tapered full spindled back, set it apart from
comtemporary rockers. It measures 44" tall, 22-1/2" across the arms,
19" deep on the seat. Its golden yellow finsh still has a nice sheen,
althought the seat area has darkened some over the years. It may just
need a good cleaning? There is some signs of use here and there, but
overall its very pleasing to view and use. Sturdy, solid, well made
with no breaks, cracks or repairs to the wood. This chair is to big to
send with UPS or Fedex! Shipping is avalible by Greyhound or

EDWARD
WORMLEY
Mid Century Modern Desk for DREXEL 1958! Outstanding,
very illusive, mid-century modern desk, designed by Edward Wormley for
Drexel. Model No. K-80-41 with smoke (marbled gray) leatherette top,
walnut wood. Produced in April 1958. Drexel burn stamp mark inside the
drawer, tab code paper on the bottom and the model # style marks on the
bottom of the drawer. Desk is 54" long, 33" wide, and 35-1/2" tall
overall. 30" from the floor to the desktop. 4 drawers, one with movable
pen/pencil tray, one with adjustable file storage rack, and one
standard storage and the small one on the top left expands the writing
surface. Step back with two sliding doors open to reveal storage area
with cubby holes for letters, documents, and such. Desk is complete. It
is in very good original condition with lite wear consistent with it's
age and use. Some rubbing, minor scuffs, scratches. The unique metal
handles have toning to their finishes. The gray leatherette covering
looks great still, but close inspection shows a couple of tiny pin top
size dings. On the step top, there is two lite rings from where a drink
had been set, and some spotting. One of the legs has a line where
the top layer of wood had chipped off and has been repaired. Don't let
the lite wear fool you, as
its really a great looking desk just the way it is. Quality made,
versatile, with full round finished design. Looks great from any side
or angle. This isn't a desk you'll want to hide in a corner or place up
against a wall. It deserves a place in the center of a office or den.
Ships by freight.
Outstanding
set
of hard to find matching low profile club chairs. Designed by
Edward Wormley for Dunbar. Circa 1950's. Each chair measures 28" tall
overall, 27-1/4" across the arms, 29" deep overall, 20" deep on the
seating area, 17-1/2" from the floor to the top of the seat cushion.
Both are just as found in an estate and have been well cared for over
the years. Both are very comfortable, and the construction and
materials are still solid. Original textured peach colored upholstry is
still in very nice condition. Arm covers have protected the upholstry
on the arms quite well, and removed show the arms gentle curves . There
is no tears or worn thin areas on either of the chairs. Upholstry still
looks nice overall with only lite signs of age or use. Bottom seat
cushions have lite discoloring, a couple of spots and one has a lite
stained area. Not real noticable, but these have been used and the seat
area's do show some use as far as the coloring. Both of the bottom seat
cushions have zippers on the back side, so a new set of covers could be
put on easily enough. No tags remain.
Its a fine set of mid-century designer chairs that when found commands
prices upwards of $5000. Please email for shipping

of
Mid-Century Danish Modern Lounge
Chairs Unusual matching lounge chairs from an estate. Upholstered in a
rich
floral fabric. Teak wood arms and frame. Metal back support. No
markings or labels. Simular to a design found by Arne Jacobsen. The
chairs are in good solid condition stucturally, and are quite
comfortable. Although they could be used as they are, they do have some
signs of age and use. The centers of the seat areas, and along the
edges (where the back of the knees rest) have frayed some. There
is some scuffs and scratches on the legs. There are no plugs in
any of the holes, where the frame is joined, may have never been any,
but I think they would look better with some. The metal braces
across the backs, along with the towering backs, gives
these chairs a majestic look. Each chair measures 45-1/2" tall. 28"
across the front of the arms, 25" deep overall, and 22" to the top of
the arms. These will ship by freight.

more pictures of this unique chair. There is some wear to the
wood, scuffs, scratches, but
overall it looks pretty good. Wood is still solid and sturdy no breaks
or cracks. Quality made. The cushions are in need of
restoration or replacing. They appear to have been home made with
plywood backs, and poorly made. I've shown some pics of the
cushions removed. A little work and this would be a stunning addition
to any danish modern decor.
